Students develop the knowledge, understanding and skills to strengthen their sense of self, to build and manage positive relationships. We aim to help students be resilient, to make informed decisions and take actions to promote their health, safety increasing participation in physical activity. Studies emphasise how movement, in all its forms, is central to daily life. They also develop health literacy to enable them to understand and use health information/services to promote and maintain their health and wellbeing.
In Year 9 they will study a year-long core Health and PE course, extending the skills and knowledge gained in Years 7 and 8. In future years, we intend to offer a semester-long core course and a choice of semester-long electives.
Objectives in Health & Physical Education
