Edenbrook College is situated in Pakenham, a satellite suburb of Melbourne on the edge of the West Gippsland region of Victoria, Australia, 53 km south east of Melbourne’s Central Business District.
Pakenham was proclaimed a town in 1861 and it was formed as a riding of Berwick Shire in 1868. Pakenham became the headquarters of the Shire in 1901 and a shire hall was eventually built in 1912. Pakenham is named after a village in the English county of Suffolk.
Located within the Shire of Cardinia local government area. Pakenham has become a major growth area in south-eastern Melbourne as new housing developments have boosted it’s population and infrastructure, as exemplified in the development of the Lakeside, Heritage Springs & Edenbrook estates.
